Drifting Away

by Colette Conway

Summer always puts me in the mood for beach and nautical inspired interiors.  One of my favorite sun and sand decor materials is driftwood, natural wood that has washed up on beaches from bodies of water such as lakes and oceans. Driftwood decor has become quite popular, and one of my favorite uses for this material is mirrors.  As the story often goes, driftwood mirrors can often be pricey (as they are primarily handcrafted) but I did some research and found some in a more manageable price range.  Of course, as the prices get lower so too do the dimensions, but incorporating a small amount of driftwood at a more affordable price is the perfect way to bring the beach into your home not only for the summer months but to keep the warm weather alive all year round.  Cheers!
